Wandering fresh green leaves in Kyoto on May 21th, 2020.
I visited many fresh green leaves viewing points in the South-East of Kyoto with my bicycle.
I will introduce Tofukuji temple and lots of its sub-temples, sub-temples of Sennyuji temple and others.

No.1 on the map is Taikoan temple.
This sub-temple of the Tofukuji temple was founded about 700 years ago.
It’s a small temple, but the Japanese garden is beautiful.

Reigenin temple

It was founded about 700 years ago and it’s a sub-temple of Tofukuji temple.
There are Jizo in the garden.

Mosses in the garden were very beautiful.

During the peak season for autumn leaves, there are too many people so it’s not allowed to take photos on this bridge.
The bridge on the photo is Tuutenkyo bridge in Tofukuji temple, it’s a famous autumn leaves viewing spot.

Tofukuji temple

No.6 on the map is Tofukuji temple.
It was founded about 800 years ago and it’s one of the best autumn leaves viewing spots in Kyoto.
The Sanmon gate is a national treasure.
Both the Tuutenkyo bridge and the Japanese garden were closed because of the corona virus, I visited only the free area.
This corridor leads to the Tuutenkyo bridge.

Shorinji temple

No.7 on the map is Shorinji temple.
This sub-temple of the Tofukuji temple was founded about 500 years ago.
It’s famous for its beautiful “Hanachozu”, “Hanachozu” is the fountain decorated with flowers to wash your hands and mouth before you visit the gods.

Hidenin temple

It’s a sub-temple of Sennyuji temple and a welfare facility for poor people, orphans and elderly.
You can see Kyoto city from the temple.

Kaikoji temple

No.9 on the map is Kaikoji temple.
This sub-temple of the Sennyuji temple was founded about 800 years ago.
Photos are not allowed, there is a 10m wooden standing statue of Shaka Nyorai in the main hall.
There were beautiful Ikebana.

Honenin temple

Summary
It took about 2 hours to go from No.1 to No.11 on the map with my bicycle.
There are many small sub-temples whithin a small area: you can see many beautiful temples in a short time.
